A middle-aged man was on Sunday killed at Milima village, Molo after he was allegedly cornered stealing from a neighbor's house.
Witnesses said the man had surveyed the area after everyone left for church and then decided to break into one of the houses.
"He knew the owner of the house is a pastor at a local PCEA church. He broke into his house," a bodaboda operator at Landi told this writer.
Those who cornered him breaking into the house raised alarm.
"Bodaboda operators from Landi stage were angry at the thief, they descended on him," John Kariuki said.
Kariuki added that when the suspect's father was informed about his son's way he told the mob 'to do whatever they want with him.'
"He seems to have had been a disturbance to his family because his father told the mob to do whatever they want to him. He was beaten to death," another source said.
The body was taken to Molo sub-county as investigations continue.
