Men in Molo constituency are celebrating the fall of a politician who allegedly broke many homes.
Men in the area regaled this writer with steamy stories of how the veteran mheshimiwa had become amorous with people’s wives.
The behavior made men so angry that they ganged up in the last election to ensure the mheshimiwa did not win back his seat.
“This man had a special relationship with people’s wives. There were reports that he would even buy them undies,” a bodaboda rider told this writer.
Multiple interviews with men in the area painted a picture of a man who had so much influence on women that husbands’ had little say on their women.
“We felt powerless; a woman would tell you to go to hell if you tried oppose this man. Imagine a situation where your wife could not listen to you on the best leader to bring change!” Geoffrey Maina said.
According to the men, they hatched a plan to see that the politician had been sent packing.
“The first plot was to steal our wives IDs and make sure they did not participate in nominations. We then spoke in one voice as men, that this man must go,” a resident who sought anonymity said.
Several women who were interviewed for this story could not confirm or deny the claims.
“I also heard about it. He had a way of winning women. But I don’t know if it is what people say,” Mary Wairima said.
