Molo MP Francis Kimani has challenged police officers in the constituency to beef up security in the region following increased crime cases.

Kimani said police should not relax to allow criminals continue terrorizing innocent residents.

"Police officers should work to protect the people as provided in the law. Residents should not be terrorized by criminals as police watch. Security patrols should be increased to ensure everyone is safe," he said.

The lawmaker added that he will push for rogue officers colluding with criminals to be moved from the area.

"I will ensure no police officer colluding with criminals works here. Members of the public should report officers so that they can be transferred from the area and have new officers brought to protect our people and property," he added.

Kimani urged the youth to venture into small businesses to earn a living and stop committing crimes.

"Youths should shun abusing drugs which leads them to commit crimes. There are legal activities our young people should venture into to better their lives," he added.

The MP was speaking at Tayari farm in Molo during  the burial of Loise Wanjiku, mother to Nakuru County secretary Benjamin Njoroge.
