Molo Member of Parliament Jacob Macharia has asked women in his constituency to take advantage of Uwezo fund loans to uplift themselves economically.

Speaking in Chandera Sub-location on Monday, the legislator called on women to sign up for the loans and start up own businesses to help improve their livelihoods. 

"We have the Uwezo fund loans with no interest rates and you can make use of these funds by the government to empower yourselves," he said. 

The lawmaker said that the time for women to be empowered had come adding that he is committed to ensuring women have a say in the society. 

"These funds are meant to empower youths and women. Our government and myself are committed to empowering you," he said amidst applaud by women. 

Macharia was holding a forum to discuss women empowerment strategies and the Uwezo and other social assistance funds.
