Molo OCPD Paul Mbusia has urged residents to volunteer information that will aid the police in fight against crime. Speaking when he held a meeting with Chiefs at Molo town on Friday morning, Mbusia asked residents not to fear the police. He stated that police are mandated to provide security to residents and that they should feel free and share information.
“I want to ask and at the same time appeal to the public to see us (police) as their friends and help in the fight against crime,” said Mbusia. The OCPD stated that police alone will not be able to fight criminals who he said are changing tactics every day.
The OCPD said law enforcers will remain committed to their duty of protecting residents with their property. Mbusia also urged Molo locals to embrace the Nyumba Kumi saying that it will boost the fight against crime. He noted that neighbouring sub counties have embraced Nyumba Kumi which is working effectively. Mbusia asked sub county local chiefs to ensure government security policies and initiatives are implemented in their respective areas.
