Area chief Peter Muiruri notes that many parents and guardians have abandoned their responsibilities of nurturing their children.

The Chief told journalists that parents are no longer shaping their children behaviour and morals.

“We have learnt with disappointment that any parents and guardians in Kiambiriria have no interest in their kids,” said the Chief.

Muiruri observed that cases of children abusing drugs and taking part in unlawful acts are on the rise.

He said parents must take up their parental seriously noting that the situation will worsen if they feel.

At the same time, the Chief warned parents who fail to take their children to school will be arrested and taken to court.

He said children who have reached the age to start school must be in school.

Muiruri said that with the Free Primary Education, it is a legal requirement for parents to take their kids to school.

He warned parents that use their children to hawk and do business at markets in the area that they will be dealt with accordingly.
