This is after a middle-aged man was allegedly busted by residents on Saturday at Moto farm with a standard seven girl in his house.

John Mwaura, a resident, on Monday said such actions have been happening and little is done by the authorities.

“Every week, we have at least two cases being reported and it is sad that the attention or seriousness needed from police to handle them has been quite wanting,” he said.

Another resident, Harun Kamau said the only alternative was to enact a law making rape a capital offence punishable by life imprisonment.

“Rape cases should be classified as capital offences and that is the policy this country should have, we cannot have old people being harmed by people living amongst us who commit these crimes,” he stated.

Rape cases especially on minors are on the rise in the country and parliament has been urged to enact a law that will tame the atrocity eating up the moral fiber of the society.
