The residents say that the county government is quick to collect taxes while doing little to address the poor road situation.

Our reporter found one taxi driver stuck in one of two gaping holes which the road maintenance team has been accused of ignoring.

“I have been stuck here since morning and I have not even taken lunch. This shows you how bad the situation is on this road,” said Joseph Kamau, the driver.

The residents are also disgruntled with area MP Jacob Macharia whom they say had promised to have the road repaired but nothing has happened so far.

Area MCA Agnes Jerotich has also not been spared with the residents saying that she has completely lost touch with the problems facing them.

The road has also seen farmers count losses as buyers purchase their commodities at throwaway prices.

“Buyers say that the road is bad and therefore it will cost them more to transport the commodities to the market. We are forced sell our produce cheaply instead of letting it go to waste,” said one potato farmer.
