Residents and businesspeople in Molo have raised concerns over the rising number of street families in the town.
They claim that things may fall out of hand if something is not done about it.
"The number of children in the streets is rising every day, we do not know the cause but surely something must be done about it," Ndungu Nyoro said.
"Some of them are said to have dropped out of school due to hunger and poor parenthood, this are children who should be in school," Kate Nyawira added.
The businessmen said that the children are becoming a nuisance due to their borrowing nature.
"Before we helped them with food because the number was small, today there so many and are disturbing our operations." Said Ann muthoni. The residents are now calling on authorities to look in to the matter before it gets out of hand.
