Speaking to the media in the area, the residents said they are now living in fear of disease outbreak.

“This dumping site is becoming a menace to us and especially to the school going children who normally come and pick some wastes from here and this might lead to the spread of diseases. Some of the school children have even opted to leave school and are now beggars at the dumpsite” said Sammy Oyalo.

His sentiments were echoed by Rose Njeri ,a resident.

“For the sake of our children, we are just calling on the county Government of Nakuru to think of another alternative area to be used as a dump site,” she said.

However when contacted over the matter, Nakuru County Director for Environment Kiogora  Muriithi said the county is trying the much it can to control the matter of solid waste disposal in Molo and other sub-counties.
