Sections of Molo stadium's perimeter wall have already collapsed and all gates stolen in one year.
The stadium has never been rehabilitated since the wall was constructed in the 1980s.
The stadium is now becoming an open field after different sections of its perimeter wall collapsed.
On one end, a private developer is constructing a commercial building just adjacent to the sports ground and has demolished a section of the wall.
Many of his construction materials are being stored in the stadium grounds.
Molo All Stars coach Elikana Ochieng, said that the stadium has not been renovated since the 1980s when the wall was erected to keep off land grabbers.
“No renovations have been done on this field since it was fenced off. Its old perimeter wall has become weak and is falling block by block, endangering the lives of its users and passersby,” said Ochieng.
The stadium has been recklessly opened up for various activities.
“People tresspass across the stadium on foot and on motorcycles. There is also uncontrolled grazing in the field. This has left the stadium dotted with brown patches of bare ground,” said the coach.
These activities have made the pitch uneven and risk for football players.
