Borabu MP Ben Momanyi has asked Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri to resign following the corrupt dealings that have hit his ministry.
Momanyi said Kiunjuri should voluntarily step aside to allow investigations to be done.
“Corruption is illegal and punishable by law. Kiunjuri being a civil servant, I am urging him to step aside so that investigations over the corrupt dealings in his ministry can be done for the suspects to be arrested and prosecuted,” he said.
The NASA MP said corruption is at the peak and President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto should do something urgently before more money is stolen by individuals interested in enriching themselves.
“Some people in this country want to enrich themselves through dubious means and illegal dealings.
"The government through its relevant agencies such as EACC should intensify the fight against corruption by ensuring suspects are arrested and taken to court because Kenyans’ money is going into people’s pockets,” he added.
He warned that Uhuru may not leave a legacy once he retires in 2022 because theft of public funds in his government is not the rise.
