The first term Wiper MP amassed 25.39 percent of the votes followed closely by youthful aspirant Dancliff Mbura who managed 20.22 percent.

Nairobi City lawyer Alphaexard Mogikoyo came third with 19.28 percent, while philanthropist Rogena Abeni, popularly known as Sonko Rogena among the electorates came a distant fourth with 12.60 percent.

However, if the polls are anything to go by, veteran politician Patrick Osero and philanthropist Dr Nyandoro Kambi will be the greatest losers given that their popularity has diminished to 6.9 and 6.7 percent respectively.

The company’s research team Director Asuga Asuga defended the statics saying it reflected the opinion of the people on the ground.

“We are a satisfied poll company and our statistics reflects the wishes of the people on the ground. We approached the issue by asking residents to select their favourite candidate from among the contestants and they did their part,” he said.

“We are not working for anyone but just involving the public to share their views. Momanyi was popular among youths and old aged but his support was a bit diminished in lower Borabu wards,” he said.

A total of 638 respondents from Kiabonyoru, Esise, Nyansiongo and Mekenene wards participated in the exercise.

None of the candidates has given the reaction to the polls with Momanyi, Nyandoro and Osero refusing to comment when reached by the reporter on phone on Tuesday.
