Mombasa County Assembly Majority Leader Abdalla Kasagamba has been sacked.
The majority leader was asked to officially hand over office to Mtongwe MCA Hamisi Mwidani, following a continued row in the assembly.
Kasagamba who is also the Likoni MCA and Speaker Thaddius Rajwayi were recently faced with sharp criticism from a section of MCAs led by the Finance Committee Chair Mohammed Hatimy, who were demanding their eviction from office.
Abdalla was relieved of his duties through a letter dated June 20, and signed by County Assembly Clerk Salim Juma.
"Due to the aforementioned details, I have no alternative but to request you to hand over office to the new leader of majority, Hamisi Mwadini, who was chosen by the party,” read the letter in part.
However, different people including artistes have defended Kasagamba dismissing the letter as baseless.
The MCA is also a mucisian signed under the Manabii Family.
