Mombasa County Speaker Thadius Rajwayi and Majority leader Abdalla Kasagamba have claimed their lives are in danger.
This comes after the two leaders found hate leaflets in their offices.
It is alleged the two received the threats over claims of opposing Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho's policies.
The leaflets that were authored in Kiswahili are said to have given a stern warning to the two leaders, stating that they will face untold consequences for allegedly opposing the governor.
The speaker formed a committee of six members to look into the matter.
On his part, Kasagamba called for speedy investigations into the matter, adding that he had been attacked by a group of criminals as he was leaving his office.
On Monday, a group of MCAs allied to the majority leader spent the better part of the day in his office armed with clubs, ready to defend him.
Mombasa County Commissioner Mohamed Maalim urged the two to report the matter to the nearest police station for further investigations.
The majority leader vowed to record a statement at the Mombasa central police station.
