Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya has congratulated the County's Health Department for scooping top prizes in Coast Region Malaria Award 2018.
Kwale emerged the Best County in the region in malaria mitigation on March 30.
Matuga Sub-county emerged as the Best Sub-county in the region in a ceremony hosted by Population Services International Kenya.
Other prizes include; Most improved Sub-county in the region award which went to Msambweni while Best Health Facility awards went to Msambweni County Referral Hospital, 2nd best facility award winner was Kikoneni dispensary while Ng'ombeni emerged 3rd best.
"I want to appreciate the efforts of all the health practitioners in these facilities. I am proud of you for being part of the transformation in our health sector," said Mvurya.
He further urged all county employees to collectively emulate these efforts, as they give service to citizens.
