A Mombasa businessman is nursing bullet injuries after two armed men shot him outside his business premise in Mikoroshoni, Bamburi.
Confirming the Wednesday incident, Kisauni OCPD Christopher Rotich said the man, identified as Joshua Muendo, was in the company of his wife during the incident.
Rotich said the couple, which owns several M-Pesa shops in the area, was ambushed by the two gangsters as they were heading home at around 11pm.
Muendo was shot in the stomach during the altercation, before the thugs escaped using a motorbike after stealing Sh26,000.
The businessman was taken to the Coast General hospital where is currently receiving treatment.
The OCPD said police have launched a manhunt for the suspects, and urged members of the public to provide any information that will aid in investigations.
“We suspect they are same people who recently shot and killed a businessman in Bamburi,” said Rotich, as quoted by Baraka Fm.
