Mombasa county governor Ali Hassan Joho officially received 200 hospital beds complete with mattresses, linen and blankets, 200 bedside cabinets, 200 reclining chairs and 60 maternity beds for Coast General Hospital from Mr Ahmed Al- Falasi and his family.
This stepped-up the county's bid to improve the health sector.
The governor expressed his profound gratitude and appreciation to him and his family, who generously donated the premium quality, ultra-modern equipment.
Mr Ahmed further pledged to fund the training of nurses from the CPGH Dialysis Center to improve their skills and efficiency.
On his part, the governor promised that his government will continue to forge strategic relationship with development partners and well wishers.
"I want to thank Mr Ahmed for these donations. His philanthropy is highly appreciated," said the governor.
This happened amid health sector challenges across the country, such as inadequate health facilities, few health workers and strike threats from employees demanding pay hikes.
