Security personnel has rescued three girls from India who had been kidnapped by a notorious Mombasa gang. According to a local daily, the gang had kidnapped ten girls with three of them being from the India nation.
Confirming the rescue operation, the Indian Minister of External Affairs Ms. Sushma Swaraj said that the officers conducted a successful operation to rescue the girls from the gang, which has been conducting human trafficking in different parts of the Coastal region.
"We have rescued three Indian girls from Kenya. The girls were victims of an organised crime syndicate that indulged in trafficking of girls. Seven Nepalese girls were also rescued’ she said, as quoted by the local daily.
She also revealed that the gang had taken the passports and phones belonging to the girls before holding them at an unknown location.
"Their Passports and phones were taken and they were held captive in Mombasa," she tweeted on Thursday.
The official also said that the girls have already been flown to India following the operation to rescue them from the inhuman gang. She thanked that Kenyan government and other agencies who assisted in the rescue operation.
