Jubilee and ODM are expected to lock horns in Mombasa today Sunday as they hold respective rallies ahead of the August 8 elections.

ODM deputy party leader Hassan Joho is expected to lead the party's parliamentary nominees at a Mvita rally from 2pm.

Elsewhere, President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto will be pitching their campaign tents at Jomvu at the same time.

According to Mombasa Jubilee deputy governor running mate Annania Mwaboza, Jubilee was now targeting remote areas of the county.

“We are now going at the peripheries. Last week, DP Ruto was in Junda."

Mwaboza revealed that the president and his deputy will first address a rally at Shimoni Lungalunga before they head to Malindi at midday.

"Their last rally will be at Jomvu before heading back to Mombasa in Nyali,” Mwaboza sais as quoted by the Star.

But all the six Mombasa ODM MP candidates on Saturday said their rally will mark the start of a series of events which will proceed to all the six constituencies.

“ODM fraternity in the county saw it wise to start tomorrow (Sunday).

"The message that we want to spread everywhere is peaceful campaigns which will culminate to the date of the general election,” said host MP Abdulswamad Nassir during a press conference at Mvita grounds.

ODM party leader Raila Odinga is however not expected to attend the rallies.
