From veteran politicians who on paper appeared unbeatable, to newcomers, the experience has pushed them hard to call it a day in the murky world of politics. In Mombasa, one of the governor candidates has hang his political boots. After garnering a paltry 1,670 votes in the gubernatorial race, Daniel Kitsao who was challenging Governor Hassan Joho on a KADU Asili party ticket has quit politics.Joho won the race after garnering 221,177 votes."I thank those who trusted in my vision and voted for me. However, I've decided to quit politics after losing in the governor race,” said Kitsao, as quoted by the Star. Throughout the campaign period, Kitsao exuded confidence that he would clinch the seat despite vying against the county's political heavyweights who have honed their political skills over years. His priority was to effect land reforms in the county which has been bedeviled by land issues over years.
