All the four leading contenders for the Mombasa governor seat have rolled up their sleeves even as they embark on aggressive campaigns to popularize their bids.

Jubilee candidate Suleiman Shahbal has been the busiest of them all, moving from constituency to constituency selling his agenda to the residents.On Friday, he pitched camp in Likoni where he interacted with small scale traders from the constituency, and made a promise to support their businesses by creating an enabling environment should he win the August 8 polls.On Saturday, he returned to Changamwe where he has been camping for the better part of the week. While meeting with Muka Mukamba Women Group at Changamwe Social Hall, Shahbal pledged to empower them if he forms the next county government.Elsewhere, Senator Hassan Omar who was conspicuously absent during NASA rallies in the region was on the ground bankrolling his political maneuvers.Omar alongside his running mate Linda Shuma and Wiper’s Mombasa Women Rep candidate Zam Zam Mohamed toured Shanzu Ward in Kisauni constituency on a meet-the-people tour.Joho who was engaged in NASA rallies took a break from county politics but his busy schedule came back to life on Saturday where he made various political tours.On his part, Nyali MP Hezron Awiti has been conducting his campaigns secretly. However, he has been busy on the ground trying to woo voters to support his bid.
