Mombasa Hospital has acquired state of the art machines in an ongoing effort to upgrade its medical equipment.

Dr Ernest Mahero said that the equipment is meant to provide treatment for major health conditions.
Speaking during an end of year party at the facility on Monday, Dr Mahero said among the equipment purchased include state of the art paramount electric beds and high-tech laboratory haematology analyzer, centrifuge platelet separators and infant incubators.
“The hospital has spent 21 million shillings on the purchase of the equipment in 2017,” he said adding that a large sum of the money has also been spent on the refurbishment of the hospital to give patients proper environment which also helps in their recovering process.
“This equipment is necessary to financially sustain and retain our market share within the competitive environment that we operate in” he added”.
Dr Mahero also said employees were sponsored to attend higher diploma in pediatric nursing, emergency care, critical care and neonatal nursing, advance cardiac and advance life support management.
The senior psychiatrist consultant said the board has also approved a plan for the construction of two orthopaedic operating theatres and endoscopy unit above the present ICU facility.
The hospital administrator Abbas Nasser who also attended the function which also honoured it’s retiring employees.
Nasser made presentations to each of the retiring staff and paid glowing tribute to their hard work and dedication to duty.
