Jubilee Party elections have taken a different turn after Anania Mwaboza endorsed a different team.
Mwaboza, who is a close political ally to Deputy William Ruto, has caused a storm in the party after rubbishing the outcome of the election.
The endorsement of the new leaders comes a few days after the elections held at the Government Training Institute (GTI) were marred with chaos as different leaders exchanged bitter words forcing the police to swing into action.
According to Citizen Digital, a rival group allied to Suleiman Shahbal organized a different meeting at night and elected new leaders.
Shahbal’s team is said to have elected Matano Chengo as the new chairman of the party, as it seeks to win more seats in the region during the next general poll.
The elections were conducted under the supervision of Jubilee Party Secretary General Onyango Oloo amidst tight security.
Addressing the press, a section of politicians from the party led by Mama Janet Mirobi and Bi Zena Swaleh accused the leaders of sidelining United Republican Party (URP) during the exercise.
Oloo has been accused by the rival group of being biased during the elections with some members saying he had already received names of leaders to be elected ahead of the elections.
