A section of Jubilee leaders in Mombasa have called for a fresh audit on projects started by Governor Hassan Joho and his administration in Mombasa County.
Led by the Mombasa Jubilee Party interim Chairperson Matano Chengo and Jubilee chief campaigner Suleiman Shahbal, the leaders accused the governor of failing to deliver to the people of Mombasa as per his 2013 promises.
The leaders claimed that Joho has failed the county's residents and instead thrives on attacking President Uhuru Kenyatta for initiating development projects in the region.
“Our city is sinking in garbage while his friends make billions pretending to collect garbage. We demand a fresh audit so that the public can know where all the revenue collected is going to. Investors are relocating to other counties and this is a clear indication that he is incapable of managing the tourist town,” said Chengo.
This comes a week after Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar raised concerns over the allocation of the garbage collection tender in the county.
