Mombasa County Commissioner Maalim Mohamed has put criminal gangs on notice.
Speaking during a security meeting at the county's police headquarters, Maalim decried a re-emergence of killer gangs in Likoni, Kisauni and Changamwe.
The commissioner said the killer gangs wield knives, machetes and crude weapons to terrorise residents.
"The gangs like Wakali Wao, Wakali Kwanza, Kapenguria Six, Born to kill have their days numbered. Insecurity will be a thing of the past,” said Maalim.
The meeting was attended by Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, security chiefs, religious leaders, political leaders and other stakeholders.
There has been an increase in crime cases in the county especially in Likoni and Kisauni, causing residents to live in fear.
