Five Cord-allied members of parliament in Mombasa County have promised to join the county leadership in the planned anti-IEBC protests on Monday.
The five, Kisauni MP Rashid Bedzimba, Jomvu MP Twalib Badi, Changamwe MP Omar Mwinyi, Mvita MP Abduswamad Nassir and Mombasa women rep Mishi Mboko have all vowed to stand in solidarity with their fellow leaders in leading the demonstrations.
Speaking to journalists at the county's treasury square on Sunday, the legislatures affirmed their support for the ongoing demonstrations, adding that more than half of Kenyans have lost faith in the commission.
Mboko hit out at the commissioners, citing corruption allegations levied against them such as the Chicken Gate scandal.
Nassir on his part called for their resignations saying they failed in the last general election despite being allocated a lot of money to purchase the BVR kits.
