One of the United Kingdom's most wanted tax fugitive, Gareth Johnson, who is on the run is believed to be hiding in Mombasa county.
An advert that appeared in a local UK newspaper suggested that Gareth is part of an 18-person crime gang facing charges of tax fraud.
"Gareth Johnson, 50, is one of the United Kingdom's most wanted fugitives.
Gareth and his father, Geoffrey Johnson.....were part of a-18-person crime gang." reads an advert that appeared in a local newspaper.
Gareth was due to stand trial in England for a multi-million-pound tax fraud in 2013 but failed to attend court.
He, therefore, had to be sentenced to twelve years in prison in his absence.
According to an England tax authority HMRC, the tax fugitive is believed to be hiding in Kenya particularly Mombasa by virtue of the fact that his father, Geoffrey Johnson, a tax criminal, was once in Mombasa.
"Gareth should be in jail for 26 years, he should pay back a lot of money. We think he could be in East Africa possibly Kenya and Tanzania." the HM Revenue Customs said.
Given his father's journey to Mombasa sometimes back, Gareth Johnson is believed to be also hiding in Mombasa.
In relation to his whereabouts, there is a financial reward for any person who might have information that would lead to his capture.
