Water started trickling into households in various parts of Mombasa county on Thursday after taps went dry for the last two weeks.

Residents of Bamburi, Kiembeni, Mashimoroni and other parts in Kasauni constituency started getting water after supply was restored following a major breakdown at Baricho station which provides the community.

Mark Rono a resident at Bamburi said they have not been having baths for the last few days after the taps went dry.

"We have suffered a lot. Many families have not been able to take baths in the last few days due to fear that the stocked water will end. We are happy now that water has started to flow", he said.

He urged relevant authorities to be alert next time if there will be a breakdown to restore water without delay.
