Most parts of Mombasa County will experience a water shortage for two days due to rehabilitation works at the Baricho water station.
Coast Water Services Board Communication Manager Sarah Langat said the Baricho water station will be shut down from Wednesday for maintenance and rehabilitation works.
Ms Langat said engineers are currently carrying out repairs at a downstream well field to enable normal plumbing of water.
Affected areas include Kisauni, Mtopanga, Mishomoroni , Shanzu, Nyali, Kongowea and parts of Mombasa Island.
“We would like to inform our esteemed customers that there will be no pumping from Baricho station on 20th July 2016 as from 8pm to 21st July 2016 8pm to facilitate repair of a serious leak at the downstream well field, which shall be undertaken by Coast Water Services Board,” said Langat.
“We request all customers in the affected areas to use their stored water sparingly during the period of the interruption. Any inconvenience is highly regretted,” she added.
