Speaking to journalists at the County Assemblies ground on Tuesday evening, Mombasa ODM chairman Mohammed Hatimy reassured the party supporters that they were still on course to ensure that the electoral body is sent home, adding that many Kenyans had lost hope in it.

“We have ceased the demonstrations for a while because we are observing the holy month of Ramadhan but this is not to say that we have surrendered,” said Hatimy.

The ODM chair echoed Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho's sentiments who had earlier said that the demonstrations were put on hold for the sake of the fasting Muslim community.

He said once the fast is over, business will be as usual in the town.
