Youth in Mombasa have been urged to fully participate in youth leadership forums and political matters so that they can succeed in their venture into politics.
Youth leader and activist, Usama Ali Hassan, said that most youths who ignored leadership forums ended up campaigning for older political class and forgetting their own, yet they have not benefitted from choosing such leaders.
Addressing a youth political forum at Majengo in Mombasa on Monday afternoon, Usama said that it was through youth engagement forums that most of the problems affecting youth in the County would be amicably solved.
He said that though many youths wanted to venture into political matters, they did not have the know-how, public speaking techniques and other new ways to attract the public ear in politics.
He said that if youth take seriously the youth forums within the county, they will overcome various challenges and fight for elective posts whenever there is an election in the country.
“As motivation for the youth organization, we are conducting these forums so that we help out our own venture into politics and succeed, we urge them to honor our efforts,” said that young Mombasa youth activist.
He said that most youth would wait until it is time for the general elections when most of them would rush up and down to political parties for assistance.
“If you want to succeed in leadership start now and do not wait for 2022, you will lack proper plans to succeed in your political leadership dream,” he told the full packed Majengo hall.
Usama, however, appealed to youth in Mombasa to support their won whether they have political campaign money or not so that they get into power and work towards solving youth-related issues in the community.
