The crocodile was put in captivity at the Mamba Village Mombasa in 1986, after mauling five people in Tana river.

He also ate 10 of his fellow crocodiles after arriving in his new home, a move that forced the management to put him under solitary confinement.

The crocodile is set to tie the knot with Sasha and Salma, who were introduced into his pool corner a few years ago.

Contrary to the management's expectations, Big Daddy changed his behaviour and showed affection to the female crocodiles, and even shared his meals with them.

According to The Nation, the reptile will also take a shot at the Guiness Book of Records in September, where a team has been invited to take down his measurements, with a view of listing it as one of the largest in the world.

“We expect that the event will attract thousands of tourists who will come to witness the rare occasion,” said Mr Paul Mutua, the product manager at Mamba Village.

Mutua said he is hopeful the wedding will be a major boost to the tourism sector, adding that they are already in talks with the Kenya Tourism Board and other players in the sector.

"We are still discussing how we will put a crown on his head and veils for his brides. When it comes to "kiss the bride" there is also an elaborate plan for that,” said Mutua.
