The best female performer in the 2017 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examination (KCSE) examination in Mombasa, Sauda Habib, has said she wants to pursue a course in medicine.Habib, however, said she will have no problem if she is given a chance to study electrical engineering, after defying all odds to emerge the top overall student in the entire county with an A- (minus) of 78 points.Speaking during an interview with the Star, her mother, Khadija Ramadhan admitted that her daughter scored exceptionally good grades (A’s) in all subjects except Mathematics and Chemistry. "She’s been having problems in Maths and Chemistry since form one," she said, as quoted by the local daily.As the firstborn in her, Sauda confesses that her kin has a lot of expectations from her, adding that she will live up to their expectations.She also revealed that her mother was not comfortable with her questionable performance in the two subjects to the point that she would hire private tutors just to ensure that she improves her performance.Sauda’s mother said that the 17-year-old would at times cry and blame her for putting too much pressure on her whenever she failed to perform well during examinations."When she did not perform well, she would cry and blame me for pushing her too much yet she felt she was still young," said the mother.Is there a newsworthy accident, incident or event happening in Mombasa County that you want Hivisasa to cover?
