Speaking during a tour of his constituency on Tuesday, Nassir said the Jubilee coalition had sensed an early defeat and that is why they were frequenting the county to mobilise support, something which he said was impossible.

“I want to assure those people on the other side that Mombasa is firmly in Cord. We are Corded and proud to be, so let no one come here to try and scuttle our strong hold,” said Nassir.

The MP claimed that the Jubilee coalition was out to use money to try and buy voters, a tactic that he said was way ward and could lead the country in the wrong direction.

“Now that Jubilee has succeeded in buying a few Cord legislators, they think that they can buy the electorates too. We want to assure them that they have failed miserably,” he said.

This comes at a time when President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to tour the county to officially launch the modern Kongowea Market as well as open the Mombasa ASK Show.
