Kitutu Masaba Member of Parliament Timothy Bosire has said that the distribution of cash for the elderly in Kitutu Masaba Constituency should be done fairly. Bosire said that he rejected a proposal by the Labour ministry to identify only 47 new beneficiaries of the cash for the elderly from East Kitutu. Speaking at Riooga Primary School when he gave a cheque of Sh500,000 from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to help build new classrooms, Bosire said he met Labour Minister Kazungu Kambi over the issue but rejected the proposal terming it as misguided. The MP said that poverty levels are equal in every part of the constituency and beneficiaries should be treated the same. “The proposal is so misguided and the people doing the distribution seem not to understand what statistics is. Poverty levels are equal in the region and all the beneficiaries should be treated fairly,” said the legislator. Meanwhile, residents of Nyamira County have been urged to be careful when buying vehicles so that they are not conned. Nyamira county Criminal Investigation Department CID boss Serif Mbaruk said that acts of vehicles having the same number plates are on the rise after two vehicles reported to have the same registration number in Nyamira and Mosobeti were impounded. Mbaruk said that investigations have started to uncover the truth behind the issue.
