They say that all that matters in a relationship is love.

That as long as two people love each other, nothing else matters. Wrong! It's called money and it matters a lot.

It's not only a question of the availability of it but how it is managed in a relationship. The idea of love in a relationship is to give. To give affection, nurture, care, protection, concern, and romance. Accept it or not, the actions to display these innocent 'givings' often need money. In simple terms, care means that if your love is ill, you take them to the hospital. Romance is often displayed with gifts, vacations, trips, sharing a nice meal or an evening out.

Money is at the centre of all of it. How money is spent has a lot of impact on a relationship too. If the one you love has poor financial discipline, you can question a stable future together.

You will wonder how you will save to build your businesses and even provide for a family in the future.

How you handle your money affects how you accomplish your dreams, how nice your wedding will be, where you'll live and even where your children will go school.

So yeah, discipline in matters of money can make or break a relationship. However, there are so many lovely things we can and should do for each other in a relationship that money can't buy.
