Members of national assembly who defected from Wiper democratic movement party said, on Tuesday said that they will not be threatened by Kalonzo's call for by-elections.
This was a rejoinder after the Wiper leader had ordered defectors to relinguish their seats.Those who had defected from Wiper include John Munuve (Mwingi North, Alfred Mutua (Machakos governor), Michael Munyao (Mbooni) and Joe Mutambu (Mwingi central).
If by-elections were held today, many youths would actively participate and it is not because they need a better leader! No, they would participate because they know campaign money will be poured like rain! 2017 elections are around the corner and many voters are gearing up to make a tidy sum of money by selling their voter's cards.
Let's face it, 2017 elections, just like the past ones is all about money and given the option to choose between money or the (ballot) box, many youths will go for the money. Unless this situation changes, we shall continue to elect corrupt leaders.
