Nyamira Senator Kennedy Mong'are Okong'o has issued a one-week ultimatum to Governor John Nyagarama to suspend the two senior county officers who allegedly exchanged blows outside his official residence last week to pave way for investigations.

Speaking at Misambi Secondary School in North Mugirango where he opened a library on Saturday, Mong'are said its wrong for Nyagarama to ask the two officials who he said had failed Chapter Six of the Constitution to be investigated while still in office.

"Which clause allows such officers who have violated the Constitution to remain in office while being investigated? How can senior county officials publicly engage in a fistfight outside the governor's residence over money issues, report the matter to the police and later hold press briefings to blindfold us that they didn't wrestle? "noted Mong'are.

The two, County Secretary Erick Onchana and Health Chief Officer Douglas Bosire are alleged to have fought over claims that Onchana had directed the EACC officers to investigate the Health department over funds misuse claims, something that didn't go down well with Bosire, causing the exchange of words which resulted in the alleged fistfight.

On Thursday, Nyagarama said he had directed the County Public Service Board to investigate the incident.
