Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has dismissed Nyamira senator Okong'o Mong'are as a 'betrayer' who cannot stand up for the country at its time of need.
Mong'are who was elected on a Ford Kenya ticket, has since joined presidential race even though he is yet to disclose his party of choice.
But on Tuesday, Musyoka dismissed Mong'are's chances and urged the Gusii community to be very 'cautious' in August elections.
"I heard that my friend Mong'are wants to go for presidential seat. He is a betrayer who could not stand with us when we were being teargassed over IEBC commissioners in Nairobi," he told a gathering at Omogonchoro.
The former Vice President added: "Do not be hoodwinked by somebody who has been strategically positioned to weaken the opposition."
Mr. Musyoka will be battling out with Raila Odinga,Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi for National Super Alliance ticket.
He held a series of rallies across Kisii and Nyamira counties in a record period of three days.
