In the race towards the hotly contested Garissa Township constituency seat, much publicity has been accorded to Farah Maalim as the only possible challenger of Aden Duale.
However, behind the open publicity are other aspirants like Siyat Osman and Mohammud Abdiyare.
Siyat Osman, former Garissa Town mayor who is currently attached to Lamu County as County Secretary has announced his bid to battle Duale under the KANU ticket.
Being an employee of a county government, Siyat has amassed much expertise in politics owing to his close interaction with seasoned politicians. This in turn, is expected to take center stage in the Garissa battle field.
On his part, Captain Abdiyare Mohamud is seeking to battle Maalim, Duale and Siyat under the African National Congress (ANC) party ticket.
Though there are rumours that Siyat is currently in talks with Farah Maalim, the former has not yet come out to dispel or confirm the reports.
