Speaking in Ndunduni location during the official opening of Chithi borehole, Eng. Francis Maliti, the Minister of Water and Sanitation Machakos County cited that many development projects stagnate due to poor planning by leadership.

“When electing leaders mandated with development projects ensure you choose wisely, so that development projects are implemented fully. Public funds are being wasted when projects fail to reach completion due to lack of planning,” said Maliti.

Present during the opening ceremony was the Machakos water engineer, Steven Ndeto.

Ndeto confirmed the borehole is set to serve more than 10,000 residents in the Ndunduni location, including Kathithyamaa region in Kangundo Sub-county.

He added that from next week Wednesday, one borehole drilling machine is assigned to be in Kangundo area so that more boreholes are sunk to curb water shortage.

“Next week a drilling rig in Kangundo will sink one borehole. Residents near Chevaluki hills should conserve the forests as it is a source of water and will be examining the area so that water can be drawn as a permanent source of clean water,” he said.
