It is a reprieve for needy students in Mbiuni Ward in Machakos County after the area Member of County Assembly (MCA) Thomas Kasoa said that there is a second phase of bursary allocation.
Kasoa was speaking on Monday during a Sh1 million bursary allocation exercise that took place in Kunikila Secondary School.
“Parents and students who applied for bursary funds but were not listed in the first list should keep their hope a live since there is a second phase,” said Kasoa.
Kasoa who is also the minority leader in the Machakos County Assembly said that the county government has allocated bursary funds worthy Sh2 million to the needy students.
“Our county government supports education and has allocated Sh2 million per ward. In this first phase should start preparing for the second season,” added Kasoa.
Kasoa further warned parents against keeping children at home while they are supposed to be in school. He urged parents, children and teachers to work together to record good performance in their exams.
