Former Mombasa ACK Diocese Bishop Julius Kalu has called upon NASA leader Raila Odinga to drop the opposition’s plan of swearing him in as president. Kalu argued that Raila’s swearing-in plan is a recipe for chaos. Speaking on Friday at the Mombasa ACK Diocese after his last sermon before retiring, Kalu also asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to create room for dialogue with the leaders of the opposition for the sake of the nation’s progress. He asked Raila not to take the projected path and reach out to the President to solve the issue, adding that Kenyans want peace in order to continue with their normal lives.“All we want is peace! Peace! Peace!” said Kalu, as quoted by The Star. The opposition leaders have maintained that their plans to swear in Raila are underway. They have insisted that President Uhuru and his Deputy William Ruto are in power unconstitutionally, adding that they will not recognise their leadership.“An Assumption of Office Committee, which is already in place and working, will be unveiled in the coming days, and that Committee will keep you informed,” ODM executive director Oduor Ong’wen said.Is there a newsworthy accident, incident or event happening in Mombasa County that you want Hivisasa to cover?
