Manufacturers in the country have criticised the Opposition's NASA coalition over calls for an economic boycott.
Through their umbrella body Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM), they said corporations should not be caught in the current political storm.
"The opposition action is saddening. We are very disappointed that it had to come to this," said chairperson Flora Mutahi on Friday.
The official warned that the calls to 'blacklist' some companies would negatively affect the economy which has already sunk due to the prolonged electioneering period.
"Companies should be left out of politics because we are not political players. The calls will result in loss of jobs and damage the economy," Mutahi added.
This comes after NASA MPs urged their supporters to stop using products and services of Safaricom, Bidco and Brookside Dairies.
The leaders claimed the companies are major beneficiaries of the ruling Jubilee Party.
The move has been condemned by Jubilee politicians, Kenya National Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Federation of Kenya (Cofek), Kenya Private Sector Alliance (Kepsa) among other organisations.
They all want the Raila Odinga-led movement to reconsider his decision.
