The Association of Meru Professionals has congratulated President Uhuru Kenyatta following his win in the fresh election.
The group celebrated Uhuru's victory, saying it would give him an opportunity to escalate his development projects.
"Kenyans have benefited from the Jubilee administration's development agenda. Following President's reelection, citizens have a reason to remain optimistic about more development," said Prof Jacob Kaimenyi, the Lands Cabinet Secretary.
Speaking at Meru Hotel, former Igembe North MP Joseph M'Eruaki said they were happy with the IEBC for conducting a credible election.
He urged Kenyans to embrace peace after the poll and unite in nation-building.
"Religious leaders and elders across the country should help foster unity," the former legislator added.
Among the high profile leaders who have sent their congratulatory message to Uhuru include Uganda President Yoweri Museveni and his Rwanda's counterpart Paul Kagame.
Local leaders such as Governors; Lee Kinyanjui (Nakuru) and Ferdinand Waititu (Kiambu) have also celebrated Jubilee's victory.
