Seme MP James Nyikal has declared that the current IEBC will not be allowed to conduct the 2017 polls.

He said the opposition will consider boycotting the poll if the current electoral body is not reconstituted.

Dr Nyikal further said the opposition is going to continue with street protests to pressurise the commissioners to leave office even at a time when Western envoys have warned against protests.

"We are not going to get tired. We will only rest when Isaack Hassan and his commissioners leave office to pave way for rebuilding of a new body that can be trusted to handle the 2017 elections," said the former Director of Medical Services.

He further urged ODM and Cord supporters to stand with them in the protests to hound the commissioners out of office, a plea that was supported by his Ugunja counterpart Opiyo Wandayi and Suba MP and ODM Chairman John Mbadi.

Mr Mbadi said they have resorted to street protests as the only way to reconstitute IEBC.
