An eyewitness who rose to fame,after claiming to have witnessed two high profile accidents, has eight previous criminal records under different names,according to a police report.
Denis Muigai Ngegi, appeared as a witness of two accidents involving high profile people, in both Murang'a and Nakuru counties.
In Murang'a,he witnessed a grizzly road Carnage that claimed Nyeri governor Wahome Gakuru's life.While in Nakuru county, he witnessed an helicopter crash,that saw five people die.
Fingerprints forensic analysis revealed that he has eight previous convictions all in different names.
He has been convicted for stealing in Naru Moru and Nkobu polling stations(PS) as Charles Karanja and Francis Karanja respectively.
In Kiganjo police station, he was convicted as Charles Karanja for giving false information and Charles Karanja Mwangi alias Cameroon for stealing.Later in Mweigapolice station, he was convicted as Francis Maina Theuri for malicious damage.
At Rumuruti, he was convicted for obtaining money by false pretense under the name Martin Mutangilu Wambua alias Kathoka.
He was also convicted in Meru for assault as Alex Musyoka.
His eighth criminal record for personating offense was at Baricho where he used Martin Githaiga Gichuhi alias Anthony Waweru Gakuya as his name.
He has adopted his new name,police allege.
He is currently held at a Special Crime Investigation Unit,waiting trial.
