Disappointment continued to follow Ulinzi Stars off the pitch after none of their players failed to make it to the 2017 SJAK /KPL awards list.This was a far cry from their 2016 exploits when the team had a galaxy of Stars lined up for the award although it was only John Mark Makwatta who walked home with the golden boot award after netting fifteen goals.However the 2017 season came with its fare share of challenges that saw the team finish a distant seventh on the log after a series of losses and draws.

Their only piece of silverware came in August courtesy of the East Africa Military Games in Bujumbura Burundi.

The Sports Journalists Association of Kenya (SJAK) normally partners with the league organizers Kenya Premier League(KPL) to award outstanding talent at the close of every season.This year's awarda gala will go down on December 18 at the Jacaranda Hotel.
