Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has welcomed a recent declaration by President Uhuru Kenyatta who said he was not ready to go round the country telling people to change the constitution.
Sudi said the President's move was timely and should be supported by all Kenyans.
“I want to thank President Uhuru Kenyatta for his recent utterances that he is not ready for a referendum and as leaders from this region we support him 100 percent since it will be waste of time and resources,” said the legislator in Eldoret town, Sunday.
Sudi who is a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto further insisted that politics ended after the October 26 repeat Presidential poll and it was time for the government of the day to offer services to mwananchi.
“For how long will Kenyans be in an electioneering period? Let us now concentrate on making the lives of our electorates better and implementing the Big Four Jubilee agenda,” he noted.
The vocal two-term MP further hit out at the opposition chief Raila Odinga whom he accused of pushing for a referendum so that he can ascend to power through the back door.
He said the referendum push is self-centered and will not benefit the common mwananchi in any way.
